The lock is located on the top drawer and immediately unlocks all drawers at once. Drawers have a rugged three-way suspension system to provide stability and ensure smooth and easy movement, even when fully loaded. Each drawer is a separate insulated container with an inner steel jacket keeping insulation locked and out of sight. This keeps the fire from jumping to another drawer if one drawer is accidentally left open. Also, it prevents access to a locked drawer if one drawer is left open. Extremely durable oven-baked textured enamel paint finish will not leave fingerprints.

The most popular way to store legal size documents in a 38" wide lateral is putting two rows front to back. This maximizes your storage capacity.

1 Row of Legal Side-to-Side

If you need or want to access your files from the side of the cabinet, you can put your legal folders in from side to side.

2 Rows of Letter Front-to-Back PLUS

If you have letter size documents, filing them from front to back is an excellent option if you also have a few legal size. After filling in the two rows you are left with a bit of space for some legal documents. Nice!

1 Row of Letter Side-to-Side

You can also file your letter size documents from side to side for a different kind of access. But if you have letter size documents, you may want to consider the 44" wide model.
